thoughts on planet audio?

Hey, I'm new to these forums, I just had one of my subs blow out in my car, and the guy at my local car stereo place was showing me some planet audio subs along with some others when I went in to look for a replacement. I was curious if anybody had any thoughts on planet audio subs. I did buy some planet audio tweeters a few months ago and they sound great, I haven't had any problems with them this far, but seeing as how the subs are going to cost just a little bit more I thought I would see what I could find out about them first. I'll be completely honest, I don't have much experience or knowledge about car stereo stuff. I know I'm looking at getting 2 12" subs but other than that I'm not real sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i was running a 2 channel amp of theirs at one time (borrowed it from a friend, so i dont remember which one). was pretty nice just didnt like all the lights on it. did put out some decent power though.

for the beginner its better than a lot of the other crap out there.

my first setup was 4 10" Planet Audio Zetars running off a Hifonics Brutus 1205. They took the power very well, double their RMS rating.

I actually still have them, all 4 in original box ready to ship. lmk if your interested

false, hifonics is sooo much better

i have had the new bxi2008, ran it at .7 daily and never got hot..

and was ver effecient on my electical

i now have a PA bb 1350.1 at 2 ohms, get twice as hot twice as fast at 2 ohms

and less power and yet sucks more volts..

i like it, but i miss my 2008

ahhhhhhhhh. i said kinda same category and yes i do think hifonics is a bit better! but honestly its kinda old to run them in my book unless your on a budget!

i own a vx 2200d and it is a pretty nice amp. and my nephew ran a tt1250 and it was a real nice amp. if they can be had for cheap there great actually.

some of the older planet audio stuff is good, now they are made in affiliation with boss.

i had the first gen big bang subs and they got pretty loud. the original BB amps were good to(the last ones that were silver, not the black ones)

the original zetar subs, not the ones mentioned above, but the ones that had the part number z-10, z-12, those were beasts. and i believe their old amps were made by ZED AUDIO, which is pretty good stuff.

even if you are considering their new stuff their amps do rated power, and the power ratings are at 13 volts instead of 14.4 like most. BB is still hand made in the US, the rest of their stuff is over seas.

Wow. I didn't think I'd get so many replies so quick. I appreciate all the info. At this point I'm thinking I need to ask the guy at my local store about the two types of subs he was recommending for the box I have right now. The two he pointed out were the planet audios and a set of alpines. The planet audios were actually a little more expensive normally but he said something about a closeout on them so he was going to give me a buy one get one half off deal. Like I said I don't know much about brands or anything, is boss audio not a great company to buy stuff from?
