Thoughts on Caps???

Hey, im really curious why I keep reading posts where people say that caps are sh1t and they dont work etc....? My system isn't big enough for another batt but I do have a cap. Why do you guys say no to a cap but my stereo store says yes? By the way, they say yes to the cap knowing I have one and will not be spending money on one.

Caps do help in instantaneous situations but not so much over long drawn out periods. They can work well IF the rest of the electrical is sufficient. Also to blindly say a cap works is also stupid because there are some pretty junky caps out there and the ones with the voltage meters work less effectively if at all.

I dont have the big 3 done yet, I will do it when it warms up. I am not asking for too much advise on my system, im really wanting to know why so many people hate caps?

because they mask an actual electrical problem. the power comes from the alternator when running, and adding a cap to charge, in an already strained electrical system, is a bandaid to an actual problem.

caps don't work well in sub applications.

if you use a cap set it up in line of your mid/highs amp.

that's all you relaly need to know. people don't really hate them here, they just find no use for them nor like when threads like this are created when one can search and find the same repeated answers.

i hate it but i have one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i use it for voltage reading and it looks nice at night hehe.

i say do the big 3 first see what happens. if not completely satisfied just get a deep cycle battery up front. and keep your cap for fun or throw it away.

Thanks for the answer and not just saying caps **** balls! Do you think I would be better off without the cap and why?
