I was told that soldering would give me the worst connection and plus i have to worry about desoldering them when i want to wire them a different way.

I use blue wire nuts with no electrical tape and they haven't vibrated loose ever since I got the sub.

Yeah, you guys are wasting time and tape by taping over the wire nuts. They WON'T come loose if you put them on tight.

Are there any special type of wing nut connectors to get? Because i have found them ranging from $4-5 for 50 to $36 for 12. Are there different quality wing nut connectors and if so which type should i get? I know these may seem like dumb questions this is my first time with a sub with terminals like this.

Soldering > any other method. Least resistance, strongest bond. Any electrician or electrical engineer will agree with me.

And for the record, I've never heard of Cantonment, FL but I notice it's in the panhandle when I look it up...must be a small little town.

Pretty much anyone that will fit the wire size. Just go to your local homedepot/ lowes or mom and pop store. Just a basic one will work

hell, all we do is strip back about 2" of the wire and twist it together, then hit it with some 3M electrical tape.

thats what I did running my subs together....... all the wire nut does is twist on instead of taping it.....best connection possible is wire to wire.

soldering is also good but like you said you want the choice of switching things around so soldering isnt going to work.

there is a reason DD recommends wire nuts.
