Im gonna use my friend's DMM to set the gains on my sub amp and speaker amp. Well, i breifly read the sticky, and noticed some people saying the ideal voltage is like 35 volts on their amp. How the hell do you get such a high voltage? Don't most car batteries only go up to 14.4 or so? Am i missing something here? Also, what mode to you put the DMM on to measure voltage on the amp to set the gains? I apologize if this is a dumb question, but im very confused.

Hence the word AMPLIFIER. The 35 volts is coming out of the amp.

35 isn't ideal. Ideal is diffrent from application to application, amp to amp.

Which one you set first doesn't matter. And setting speaker amp is the exact same except you use a diffrent tone.
