This question is for the grown ups.

But the problem is her vaild point.. Every mile, every day, every modification you do to a car it is worth less.. There is no debating that point?

Putting money into the house will have a large return on investment.

The other point is if my car gets totaled or somebody jacks my stuff, its gone.
If putting the amount of money into car audio you want to will significantly alter your long term investment plans with a house, then she has a point. But I figured we were talking about somewhere between a few hundred and a couple thousand dollar stereo, versus a $100k+ house with presumably tens of thousands in investment needed over a several year stretch. And, if you cant afford a $200 comp set, she cant afford a $200 pair of jeans. If she wants to be objective, speakers last a lot longer than jeans do.

You can re-use your stereo equipment, or at least a lot of it, if/when you replace your vehicle. So the argument of wear and tear on the vehicle making it worth less every day has very little relevance to adding a stereo.

But, you dont buy audio equipment to increase the vehicle's value, if you are discussing that point with her on that level, you have already lost the argument. How do some guys justify spending thousands on a set of Pings, ski equipment, a hunting rifle, or even a boat? You dont justify those things on an objective level. Its a hobby, the value is your enjoyment.

And, if all else fails, use the old line "hey, at least Im not out at the bar spending the money".

Didnt really have one.. Just venting..
The title is very confusing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

But just do like I do, buy the stuff and if she finds out tell her to stfu that you bust *** for the money so you buy what you want. If its not interfering with bills etc...all is well.

Ya I've used that line a few times..

The house I'm taking about upgrades, keep in mind this house is only a year old. When we went over the plans some of the stuff such as there hardwood options we didnt like. So we got cheap carpet, and we are putting the wood we like in. The upstairs bath room didnt have to options we wanted so its getting the sink and stuff changed. Then just random moldings all over the place.

What the builder was going to charge for the stuff we are doing now would of cost a lot more plus the upgrades would of been on the loan. We have put about 4500 in so far and it has already raised the value by 7000 and some change

some of you would become open minded you will relize that females rule the world. They can control us, the smart ones that didnt grow up picking cotton and working at mc donalds already know this.

If I wanted some dumb country bimbo thats what I would of got. Exotic cars and exotic females are the same.. High maintinance and expensive!

Just remember, value is only what someone is willing to pay, not some chart on a piece of paper. The real estate market right now is very unstable. Hell, if you made the right choice, the value of your subwoofer would probably be more stable than the value of your house. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

The changes to the house you are talking about can and (I assume) will get done, its only a question of when. Or is getting the right moldings and double sinks in the bathroom keeping the house from being inhabitable? We already know the answer to that question, so it obviously boils down to your wife has placed a higher priority on those things she wants versus the things you want. Her moldings as soon as possible, your stereo never. That argument *might* have flown with me, if you hadn't mentioned her expensive jean hobby. You clearly worship your wife, and I respect you for that, but imho it sounds like you are letting her get away with a bit too much one-sided logic.

Again, we are talking about you having to justify, objectively, a hobby. Your wife places you in a no-win situation when you let her argue from that perspective.

Its a no-win when she shows up with the facts. Cause I get the $200 jeans to not just her! Like I said before, I can spend money on anything I want with no arguement. A new xbox game, ps3 game, my redicules diet, cloths.. She dont care, but when it come to a car, not just my car but any car. Its a dumb waist of money.

Smart men know it is their job to let women think they control things. Its the retards that let them actually do it.
Oh a big bad internet guy! Gosh what do I do now.

Shut up *****

Its the guys like you that come home after cruise to a wife that has emptied the bank account and got knocked up by the cable guy. Ive seen it happen to many times.
