Sounds like he's happy with it. That's all that matters.Sony may not be in my top running for car audio manufacturers either. But I am pretty sure hell would have to freeze over before I bought a speaker that sum dude made in his basement. Hows his warranty btw? LOL
Sony may not be the brand name in car audio, compared to Bravox, Zapco, Rockford, etc. but unless your in DB drag who cares? Buy what you can afford and if it puts a smile on your face then you won't regret it. Pioneer has been manufacturing garbage for over 20 years imo, but it obviously pleases alot of other people who buy it out there so to each his own. I don't doubt your friend makes a fine speaker, its really not all that complex, but he will never match the warranty and R&D that a "real" audio manufacturer does. I noticed he stuck to the Pulp cone on the sub you have pictured, good choice, far better SQ than PP injection molded.
Just as I'd thought.Never wasted my money on that stuff,
thats why i said this//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif:fyi:some of the best sq amps were made by sony in japan FYI

imma have to agree bc when i was 14-16 i had sonys. i bought EVERYTHING busting my *** at this restaurant for the whole thing. and it sounded decent bc of the install. obviously the kid knows how to install bc everything looks clean as hell. its all a matter of time untill he will be able to afford other stuff and hell move on. like, everyone else.hes 17 probably bought all that himself he knows its not the greatest but it does what hes wanting it to do... first system... hes happy... personally id say fuxck you hoes but ill laugh cause the net
Sort of true, yes. With the windows down or partially down, they act like quasi-ports. Cabin pressure created by the stereo exits the windows, creating an area of increased air velocity, which translates to increased SPL in that area. Its similar to the idea of placing the mic, or your ears, inside your port. Air velocity = higher localized SPL. Not all systems exhibit this phenomenon however, nor do all places inside the vehicle increase in SPL when the windows are down."Your gunna notice your sound level increase with the windows down, with them down you are basically converting the car into a giant bandpass box, with the windows acting as ports. Thats why when you enter into sound off's, or DB drags, etc. they won't allow you to have your windows down."
Does have any truth to it? I have always wondered why my subs get louder when I open the windows. Is this the reason?
Well I better sell all my kicker stuff and get some SONY amps , They are the best. all I need is a ride to walmart, hell yeah 1200 watts for $89.99 sh!t why dont everybody run sony amps...................... oh yeah they are junk,,,Just as I'd thought.
A lot of you guys who usually comment on Sony products don't even have the firsthand experience necessary to form an opinion in the first place. You're simply letting your pride perpetuate a brand prejudice that is mostly unfounded.
