i actually had it in a small ported box like 3.1 cubes at 32 hz i think. sounded great, only had 1100 watts on it. didnt have it long enough to really play around with it that much

I had them running off only 1000w each, they definately wanted more! They are power hungry subs, but Id be careful with 2x rated power...
