High school hockey in MN is huge, Seeing as we will probably see 120,000 ppl at the state tournaments thursday thru saturday, Selling out the XCel energy center ( couch nicestnhlrinkever couch ) .. i beg to differ, Hockey is the shit I play hockey in minnesota and yea the state tourney has been sold out for boys and girls for almost a month now!!! Blaines winnin state this year for guys hockey!!!! google "Nick Bjugstad" kids goin # 9 overall in the next nhl draft hes a ****in dangler!!

Huge hockey fan...played up thru high school and a bit of D3 college. My oldest son may be playing Juniors next year at 15, which is a perfect route to a partial or full college scholarship...so, I'm a HUGE fan!

Also, if you happen to have a daughter who plays hockey, today you are all but guaranteed she will get e full ride to college.

Some of my boys went to Minnetonka. So may as well go for them. I'll be up around those parts come summer for NA tryouts. So good to see there are some people in the area.

Jrs is a hell of a good start.. Quite a few guys I used to play with and still do now play Jrs .. Derek Forbort out of Duluth East WOULD be playing with the team this year, but he is pretty hi on the NHL scouting list as well playing JRs for his SR year..

Derek Forbort, a defenseman with U.S. National Team Development Program's Under-18 team -- which for the first time this season is playing in the USHL -- is the top-rated U.S. junior skater. The tall (6-4-1/2) defenseman has 8 assists and 12 penalty minutes in 18 games against a mix of college and USHL competition.

"Derek Forbort has good top-end ability at both ends," Central Scouting's Jack Barzee told NHL.com. "He's smart and skates so well, he's almost 6-5 and he's got everything there in front of him. It's just a matter of filling out and getting more experience and playing. He's probably a top-two defenseman in the NHL if he reaches his potential."
