1. Unless your referring to outside scholarships non-related to school then thats a little over exaggeration.2. You still have to earn the majority of those scholarships regarless of being black.

3. Stop gettting loans and up your grades and get more scholarship money, not throwing insults at you just saying.

I am a fulltime student, and full time worker. I pay all my bills including cell phone, gas, insurance, car payment, tuition, and my car audio equipment, as well as other hobbies and going out for a night on the town. As far as college goes, I get only $400 a semester from my community college. I went through a school system that was mainly african american students. I was on the national honor society and recieved sterling merit.

I can't get a scholarship to save my life. I will most likely not be able to afford going to a four year college because i cant get scholarships. ive been applying for scholarships the past 3 years and have only recieved one from my community college which i just was able to start using this semester.

What makes me worse then students that come from bad backgrounds, whether black or white, that would get these scholarships while they get worse grades then I do? so they can have a better future? I dont see how it is relavant that my parents make a certain amount of money when I PAY for MY OWN SCHOOLING.

IMO I don't think there should be black or white only scholarships, I dont think there should be a quota for colleges to meet on different ethnic people at the school, and i do believe the best candidate should get the job/scholarship.

White americans in power are so scared of being called racist they would rather make it hard for a white man than make it equal. About ten different scholorships just for being black and I cant get enough loans to pay for my school.

If you can't get a loan, could it be that you can't qualify? A loan has nothing to do with what scholarships or loans others are receiving.

Instead of whining about not being able to receive a loan, why don't you join an ROTC program, or perhaps serve your country and get a college fund out of it.

If you are really intent on going to school, I suggest you work three jobs like a lot of college students and avoid loans all together. If you pay as you go, once you cross the stage, you will owe "NO ONE". It's a good feeling to walk across the stage without a penny of debt as a college graduate. You won't have to participate in the "how much I owe" discussion while sitting in your college graduation.

I do admit, at many public institutions the qualifications for school funded scholarships for black students are lower than the qualifications for white students. With that being said, I am willing to bet it would have been harder to find a job as a black student versus a white student. Given the choice, I would rather be a white student with a job paying off loans than a black student who went to school for free who cannot find an equivalent job. I think whites still have it better....

True but why do you think that is so? I just feel that that brings into insite a huge underlined/hidden topic thats to vast and contraversial to explain. But IMO it has to do with the goverment knowing that not all grammar school institutions aren't equal, their way of giving retribution, and keeping high level race organization quiet. quite the cover up if you ask me. But thats just opinion.

people in 2008 have the right to pay taxes, get thrown in jail for not paying taxes, or live on the street free from taxes. the british forced taxes upon the people or they were automatically sent to a prison or later killed. they worked on the lands for the homeland, they PAID the homeland to live and to work. this happened until they revolted. its all a similar issue regarding SLAVERY. slavery isnt based on race...sorry.

jadon im sorry that our views on this issue our different. but i just want to let it be known i have no hard feeling towards anyone in this thread. it is just a debate. i hope noone will have hard feelings outside this thread.
