Boom cars have been closely linked to murder, aggression, gangs, drugs, speeding, reckless driving, DUI, underage drinking, and other crimes.

Where's the proof in that?

Ok I only read the front page of that God dam*ed POS article and I was ready to go out and kill someone for saying such filth and obscenities about car audio. I particularly like this part.

As more and more boom cars are being made by teenagers hungry to prove themselves to their peers and get attention, sadly, the automotive industry is beginning to install powerful stereo systems right from the factory. In addition, factories are now installing DVD players in automobiles. With factory systems so powerful, police are now ticketing owners of these brand new boom cars. The sounds from their factory systems can be heard blocks away!

Now how much BS is that. Those factory systems wouldnt even be in the vehicle from the factory if they were even the slightest bit illegal to have them in there in the first place like it sayed. Now if it would have sayed that they are ticketing people who fo around booming around disturbing other people with these factory systems then ya I could understand that. But for just owning a vehicle with them. Thats a load of BS.

A lot of it is true though, in a stereotypical sense. You can safely assume people who are into car audio also are unscrupulous characters. I mean, where do you think this woman made these judgements from? She has a set of values which are basically the norm outside groups of car audio enthusiasts. For this reason, most of the stereotypical comments she made are considered true. Her claims are by no means unsubstantiated, for the most part.

There's a reasoning behind her opinions, sure. The reasoning is, there are people who abusively play their music without regard to others. The stereotype she makes is really, really extreme however. This pretty much undermines the "norm" you're referring to.

I mean.. "BOOM cars?!" LMAO? She sounds as if she's either 12 years old, or possibly 90 years old.

You say her claims are true, but that they're unsubstantiated. I think you're confused.

I don't understand the point this article is trying to make.. it's like someone needed to vent some uneducated opinions by scribbling them down on a piece of paper, but instead they posted them on the web.

The best part is that if you click on resources at the bottom of the page, it brings up a whole bunch of sites of people talking about how "even short interactions with boom cars have been scientifically proven to raise your stress level..." After reading over some of their posts, these people arent worth my time to even try to enlighten them. All their websites are is a place to ***** and moan because their husbands or wives played it smart and left their punk *** for beeing worthless.

I think we should all email this person with some educated arguements to the article. Also point out that the resources are biased so there can only be a one sided argument to the article. Put on your game face and lets email.

Did this person loose a close family member to a car stereo or what? Obviosly a lot of time went into making this website, they must really, really have something personal against car stereos, or just a lot of extra time to complain. I'm guessing it's the latter. They don't take into account that people do it as a constructive hobby just like any other. But I guess all the people that get pleasure from their car stereos dont even compare to the few seconds of bass other people have to endure as we drive by, give me a break.
