This a good choice on an amp?

I'm not sure about audioque amps, I'm also not sure about their retail price.

HOWEVER I can tell you that all else equal, paying retail is USUALLY pretty stupid!

I understand if you have a hang-up about warranties. IF you have the ability to test the amp, like really test it's true out put ( and I don't know why you would buy a used sub if you couldn't)

then you really can't go wrong.

I remember way back when I was STUPID I bought my first Memphis 500d from radio active for 400!

Then I sized up and bought my second one used and paid 110.

The used amp lasted longer than the $400 500d.

That's my perspective.

Also 200w after you're already getting 1000w will in most cases be negligabe. DEFINATELY not worth $500 more dollars, or whatever difference the aq amp is.

Think of it this way, how many times can you replace the cost of the alpine amp in respect to retail price of the aq amp.

For example if the AQ costs $600, And you are able to buy the alpine for $125.

Then you can replace the alpine almost 5 times before you would even break even on the initial cost of the AQ.

To me it's a no brainer!

Retail is for suckers!

I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON!

I'd take the MRP over the BXI any day
Really? Its 300 more watts tho? Also these subs are "dual 4's wired paralled to 2 ohm". SO is that just 2 ohms? So a mono amp like the alpine or hifonics will work right?

If you're looking for pure power, then you probably couldn't go wrong with an AUDIOPIPE. I have one of their 1500 D which puts out 1500+ RMS and got it brand new shipped with warranty for 142.00.

Its the best price to watt ratio of an amp that actually does rated.

Ive personally never owned any HIFONICS amps, however a buddy of mine LOVES them. From my experience with them, I don't think that their quality is excellent, meaning the components which they use to build their amps, I believe are sub par. AGAIN THIS IS MY OPINION. Further Ive seen one clamped before, i believe it was an 1000D, it struggled to put out 900 ish watts AND THEY WERE DISTORTED watts!!! Meaning that the amp was being pushed beyond it limits.

The alpine is a solid choice, so is the AQ, BUT don't just buy one product because the manufacturer claims their produces more power. You will find that more often than not, for most cheaper brands THE AMP WILL NOT produce the power that the manufacturer claims!!!

And if you have any questions in the meantime, ask them here because the wealth of knowledge available is EXTENSIVE.

If you are on a strict budget I guess you could go audiopipe however the alpine and audioque are far better choices. They are known to due rated power and will sound better than the audiopipe. I owned an audiopipe 1500 at one point and it got me by but my u.s amps sounds way better in my opinion and is doing very close to rated power on a not so good electrical.
