I just got this email a few min ago:
Dear eD Customer,
If you are receiving this letter it is because you are a current Elemental Designs customer patiently awaiting the arrival of your NINe.1 amplifier. As I’m sure you know with the previous email sent and the hubbub online that we have had some trouble getting the amplifiers into the United States.
Fortunately we have some sort of closure on the situation however unfavorable the result. As it seems some vital paperwork with missing and there may be some other factors playing into this we are not aware of and as a result the amplifiers have been turned around and sent back to the Korean facility where they were assembled.
So what does this mean. Very bluntly. A long annoying wait. Roughly 15 weeks minimum before we will have our hands (or anyone pertaining to them) in the amplifiers again after they’ve arrived in Korea and have been re-inspected, re-packaged, and re-shipped. There really is no easy way around this. We’ve put a press release explaining a little more in depth the situation on our web site at ; http://www.edesignaudio.com/ep/news/press5.11.03.htm
In Lu of this situation we have made the decision at this time it is best for everyone if we replace their order with a amp we currently have in stock or cancel the order all together as we do not feel comfortable holding on to the credit card number information we currently have for another 15 (or more) week period.
We are (at no extra charge) offering to send in replacement of the NINe.1 amplifiers a Avionixx 800.2 or a Avionixx 500m. This amplifier sells everyday for roughly 549.00 dollars on the eD web site and is currently in stock. If you decide to make the switch we will send the amplifier immediately to you at no extra charge and for the exact amount you have already pre ordered a NINe.1 amplifier for.
The alternative to receiving the Avionixx amplifier will to have us simply cancel your existing order, you will be charged no cancellation fee and the order will just be wiped from our systems. If we do not receive a response within 30 days (or roughly June 15th the order will be cancelled automatically).
All I can really say is I apologize for the inconvenience. The situation at hand is no fun for anyone involved especially the individuals who have been waiting on this amplifier for a while. We are hoping the larger chunk of folks opt for the Avionixx amp and give us a chance to make up for it with a quality product they should have already received.
Please reply directly to this email and to me directly with what you’d like to do in the situation. It stinks for everyone but I am confident the 800.2 is a great alternative especially for the price people ordered the NINe.1 for. Please let us know ASAP. Again, both Avionixx amps are in stock and ready for immediate delivery.
