Thinking of getting a 18' Q or BTL

I want to upgrade my 2 12' Type R subs for some better 12's. Well After looking at fi audio those drivers look pretty impressive. I'm thinking of just ditching 12's and going with a single 18'inch set up. The biggest ported box I can get in there would be about a net total of 5.5 Net cubes. I'm going to be sending it 1200 rms X 1 @1ohms. Anyone here have any experience with any of these drivers ? I'm looking at either the BTL or the Q serious. I want more output than my 2 12's and better low end SQ , which one would be the better choice?

Either one should be an improvement.

Not sure on the power needs of the BTL, but I believe that is right around the Q's RMS.

Take a look at the site, see if they have RMS figures listed.

The BTL is rated at 2000 rms and the Q at 1000 rms. Right now I'm not looing to upgrade my amp but in the near future is a possible posibbility. Is 5.5 net cubes enough for these 18's ? I could fill it up with polyfill .

the output was great lows were outstanding and the bass travel was fenominal. They handle 1000 watts great but i think they can take 1500 watts personally, i heard a pair of 18's sealed, and for a sealed application it outperformed what i thought i would do

I wouldn't port an 18 in anything less that 8 cubes net.
