Thinking about trading in my xplod

I purchased a Sony Xplod Gt520 head unit not long ago. I've been hearing a lot of bad things about the Xplod line but have yet to hear anyone explain what is wrong with them other than with a useless statement like "sony is crap". Any answers to the question of what is wrong with them would be appreciated.

I don't know whether this unit is good or not because the only other head units I have owned are factory default ones. Since I am within my 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee period, I would like to take this opportunity to reevaluate the decision and get some opinions about whether I should keep this or whether I should go for something else.

If you suggest trading it in for something else, what are the good options and what manufacturers currently make good products? I am most interested in sound quality, not loudness and will be connecting it to a Clarion 7 band eq, a Cadence amp, MB Quart PCE component speakers in the front and Polk db components in the back (no subwoofer for now, though that may eventually change). I have the following requirements:

mp3 playback from cdr/cdrw, lossless wma would be nice too though it's not necessary

auxilary input, preferably in the front

I would really love to have a unit that can read mp3s from a dvdr/dvdrw but have yet to see such a unit anywhere.

Finally, that unit cost $140 and I would like to stay somewhere in that range. The $200 range would be acceptable if no options below that are worthwhile.

All suggestions are appreciated.

PS. If you offer a suggestion, please mention what kind of improvement I can expect, while keeping in mind this is my first system and I don't have a great deal of knowledge yet.

Audio master you kinda **** at posting. Try use some punctuation.

Torr, some of the favorite brands around these parts are Alpine, Eclipse, and Premier (Pioneer). Check their lines and see what best fits your application.

Are there differences in sound quality between the different radios in their lines? or is it all about the features?

What is the difference between premier and pioneer?

Keep the advice coming guys (and gals)
