My buddies dad just came back from Malaysia and landed me a nice contact.

I'm thinking about starting off with wire and seeing how sales go before getting into amps and subs.

For those of you people here who just started opening a business in the field, any thing you can pitch in?

Btw I'm talking very good hook ups for wire.

I'm looking at better strand count then kicker and all copper, or CCA for even cheaper cost.

Better pricing then knu.

What do you guys think? Is it worth investing $ into?

Or am I getting in over my head?

What kind of minimum purchase is there?

Shipping costs, etc.

How is the wire market, what makes your product stand out over Knu... I know you said better strand count and all copper but what kind of prices will you offer.

Just some ideas to think about.

and the economy sux. i don't know about others business but, our sales have declined dramically. ppl are broke from all walks of life. not just the lower income workers. because of the business i am in, i see it alot more than the average person or business.

Competition is a very healthy thing in the business world - it keeps everything moreso in a check and balance system.

Too much competition, however, has a tendancy to cause a very large negative effect across the board.

min order for 0 & 2 awg kits would be 500

Orders for 4 & 8 awg kits would be 1000

Shipping costs aren't too bad. I did an estimate on two palets and got pretty good return

For example of my prices/ features over Knu

Knu offers their 0 awg kit w/ CCA for what 52.99 right now

Included:

17 Feet KLM 1/0 Metallic Blue Power Wire

5 Feet KLM 1/0 Silver Pearl Ground Wire

One FH-20 with Choice of Fuse size

4 1/0AWG ring terminals

6 feet Split Loom and wire ties

I'm looking to offer a little more and better pricing

20 Feet CCA 1/0 Red Power Wire

4 Feet CCA 1/0 Black Power Wire

250A ANL Fuse w/ Water Proof Fuse Holder

4 1/0 Awg Ring Terminals

Shielded gold plated RCA's w/ remote wire built in

Wire Ties and sticker.

For right around 45.99 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you can afford the initial buy in why not go for it? If its a good price youll move it for sure. I dont know wat your schedule is like but keeping inventory and getting orders out within a day is pretty time consuming, Especially if youget busy

My only experience I have to share is when I was just out of high school, living in the country, used to make muskoka chairs out with very good quality and stain and put them on the driveway for $75, they started selling, only like 2 a week cause thats all I made. Then word of mouth kicked in, one guy wanted like 6, another family wanted 4, and a lot of single sellers. More than eventually I was able to keep up with. I got backed up by about 20 chairs (takes me 3 hours per chair + finishing) so I stopped taking orders and caught up.

Went back to just building my 2 a week and putting them on the driveway, if someone wanted one and I didnt have any made, I said come back on sunday Ill have 2 more lol

Good luck

Thats a good price. I'd buy that. I honestly think if you could materialize that, you'd make a decent amount of money around here, considering your list of refs already.

Of course, you could go a different route....see if you can beat whoever supplies KNU with their wire, and offer them a better price on wire kits. If they can cut cost per kit, you'd already have an established customer base--theirs.

Dude Shok has you beat. He released his stuff like two weeks ago. Bigger and better then Kicker and at $130-$140 for 50' its a steal. He lives over in Signapore and does over sees stuff. I just dont think it be good to start up a business when he does because he has more contacts over the products and has a big market coming up really fast. Maybe amplifiers or subs would be a better direction imo

Lol drop outta school and start makin chairs

I would however need to set up the operation near a port, so that means moving out to east/ west coast.

I could even offer kits w/ big 3 ready capability for a bit extra.

if its a good strand count and not the 1/0 that can barely fill a 4ga ring terminal...it should sell easily
I'm getting a sample package in from these guys for all their wire and etc coming in so I can inspect and see if I like.

But by the pics they sent me already, the wire looks beefy.
