Think Kicker's plans are off :-/

I had that spreadsheet.

Youre saying that if i put 3.0 cubic feet into winisd as the box volume.......it is gross, and not net? ar far as the port displacement goes?, and then create a porrt displacement, it is all contained within that 3.0 cubic feet?

winISD calculates the port tuning for a GROSS box, it does NOT factor in the displacement of the port you put into it. Thus, the only time that winISD is accurate with the tuning is if the port is not inside the box (i.e. external ports).

And you don't have my spreadsheet seeing as I made it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i had one...i thought it was yours, but i could be wrong.

so winisd calculates gross volume.......I did not kno that

I thought the ft^3 that you put in the front, was net.

Well, since i never gave mine out, i don't think it's mine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And nope, winISD does not factor in port or sub displacement. Hence why i used to figure out boxes with a combination of paper and winISD.

SO are kicker's plans off?

so the box i build is basically trash, and money wasted, I'm sue'in kicker for this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

It didn't necessarily go COMPLETELY to waste. I'd still try it out in your car; once a box is in the car, things may change completely.

Another option would be for you to change the length of the port. I did some calculations, and if you change the port length to 24", then it would drop the tuning down to 35 hz.

My previous box was 2.95 @ 34hz and sounds way better, but making the port longer wouldn't that be almost impossible? I mean trying to get another peice of wood in there and all of that?
