The W7: Alternatives?

I'm hearing more and more that the W7 is an overpriced sub. Any suggestions to what would be equal quality and durability for less and where to get it? Rocking spl is my goal, but sq is a MUST. That was y i looked at JL to begin with. The prices i'm seeinr right now for a new W7 is $500 for a 12" on ebay. What do you experts think?

Look into SI mag V4 for a SQ driver - you could do 2 12" for $500

lol was that a joke? And i dont care what people say the w7 is a very unique sub, I owned a used one, infact i still have it sitting in my room because im sure the time will come i want to use it again.

Ive heard fi q's ive ran mags currently using an idmax and others and i can still say the w7 is my favorite sub. And no im not a JL fanboy the w7 and w6 the only JL products i have owned and probably will own.

Q is also a good option, but IMO SQ wise, Magv4 > w7 > Q.

Obviously, personal preference.

In a big enough box with RMS, I agree. It would require a much larger box than it's competitors he is talking about, and it has double the RMS.

the XXX12 sounds great in 1.5cubes sealed.. thats not really large... 2 cubes ported also sounds good...the first ones that is..

i wouldn't waste my money on the new XXX its not really revelant in car audio... it was bullt for the same reason the jackhammer was.. to awe and impress... sealed it will do fine but tis just not really logical in 99% of the appilications not even home audio... its going to take goobs of power to have good output..
