And they say ignorance is bliss... Sundown amp use IR mosfets in the bigger amps, chinesse mosfets in the smaller amps, japanesse output transistors in the smaller amps, and IR mosfets in the output of the larger amps... It's no secret, and none of those options are inappropriate. Please do your homework before you come on here spouting garbage...

Only Sundown amp made in China is the SAE-1200D, the rest of them are all Korean made, and that 99% of the good amps out there are made in Korea.

About a year and a half ago, I believe Alex (DBDesignsElite) did a lot of testing on the stetsom and warned me (about my 2k6D from years ago) that the mosfets were working to their limits, and that it most likely would burn up rather quickly.. But i tested it on half ohm daily for a week, and didn't heat up too much, although I had used reducers to fit 0 gauge into the 4 gauge terminal.. Never cut out on me, and sounded louder to the ear than a pair of mtx 81001s strapped into an incredibly low load.. I sold the amplifier because i believe his experience with amps, as he does repairs as well, and I tend to abuse amplifiers, so i'd prefer to stick to sundown which enjoys it :-D.

Pushing mosfets to their extreme limits is like "overclocking" a CPU in a computer, it can be done, but there is always the chance that it may go poof! If it doesn't that is a great statement for the IR or Fairchild (if that's what they are using in Stetsom amplifiers.) mosfets. IR=Mosfet end of story they are the mosfet kings in my book.

I would like to point out one problem with your statement above, Sundown is not made in China.

Why so much Sundown hatred lately.? Is the Sundown gear that popular that some people just have a seething hatred for it? LOL... And not all chinese made amps are bad. The HiFonics Brutus Line is made in China and I think they are great quality boards, good builds, as good as the Korean builds.... geeezzzz WTF is up with all the hating on Sundown lately....

The parts in the amps are the same parts in every amp, at least the good ones anyway.... they are IR, Fairchild, KEC, and I cannot remember the name of the chinese or korean made mosfets, the DFP70n06 or DFP50n06 (used in the little Sundown amps).

Yeah, you are right, you can't fix stupid but you can fix ignorant. Pay attention, learn something, don't just go around repeating what others are spouting out of their mad little mouths...
