I call those numbers all the time and ask to sponsor a kid in Louisiana. (as there are more than plenty hungry, impoverished kids right here at home...) and they never seem to be able to point me towards anyone here in the states. Why do I want to send my $$$ to some 3rd world country that likely won't ever be anything BUT a 3rd world country when there are kids (and their parents) starving right here in our own backyard?
