Actually, it was iceteebone that reviewed his XM tuner and said he couldn't tell the difference between XM and a CD, so I took his word for it.. Well, I can definately tell the difference.. Maybe on a crappy stock system you *might* have a hard time telling which was which, but I can tell the difference without question.. You can hear the limits of the compression in the highs, but the lows sound really good.. So ya..

I guess that WAS a bad example

I have heard the same thing.... the better that your system is sonically, the biggere the difference between CD and satellite radio

the sq is top notch. i can not tell a difference between a cd and xm. i have used the delphi plug and play kit through an fm modulator and aux inputs, and this by far is much better. the sound is detailed and crystal clear. if you were blindfold and i flipped between xm and cd, you would not be able to tell the difference.

Maybe this would work better? I have a Terk Micro antenna.. I'd think this would have higher gain..

I got the Alpine TUA-T020XM.. So you mean to say that you can't hear the compression in the highs? I'm sure you have a somewhat decent sounding system running off of that 9835..

And I could really use a dollar and a kick in the nuts too.. I wish you were closer so I could compare them side by side.. Every sat setup I've heard now has sounded no better than a 96kbps MP3, at best..

hmmm i really don't remember what i had back then. i think it was my boston pros and mag. i don't hear compression but then again i'm not that anal about sound. i said it sounded identical to the the cd player.

id maybe keep it and have both XM and sirius, but im running out of places to hide these little boxes
