IDE cable wasnt the issue. Youre actually right. I just pulled some hardware off and got a POST beep this time. dont know why I didnt before. Thats what was making me think.

Sometimes if the RAM timmings are set to "tight", it will cause errors in the calculations, but seeing its a Compaq, I highly doubt this would happen. AND, make the PC live again Dev! lol

someone at work. You know what the probly was that he told me? THat he forgot the password to it.......yeah.....

so i reset the boot password and tried to do the windows disc trick, but I couldnt even get that far. His HD was obviously phsysically damaged. so somethin tells me he took it somewhere else and they told him it was really ****ed up and he tried to get me to fix it haha.

I just wanted to **** around with it. Expirience for me, but ive run out of things to try/too lazy to do other stuff.....cuz it seems like a waste to me.
