I have come to the conclusion that the RAM or Mobo is done on this computer, and therefor I am done with this computer. its out of my house tomorrow.

after that when its supposed to restart, to actually go into xp setup. it comes back on then goes to that screen. Im done with it though.

ARE u sure? Try erasing the WHOLE hard drive before installing windows. [back up anything u need] BTW, RAM or the motherboard would not cause this o happen... its ususally other crap left on the HD

Tested with 4 different HDs, same problem. 2 were new. 1 was unused, and 1 was the bad one.

no post beeps. drive translation off. recognizes HD, 14gb of it. How could you rule out the Mobo being the issue? I could see the RAM. I need memtest, but i dont feel like it.

CMOS has been reset.

dont have the compaq paq thing on floppies. dont want to flash, too much of a hassle for this POS.
