What is so bad about caps? Why would they make them if they are nothing but a downfall and why the hell are they so widely used in the competition lane?

I think its because you can get a cap for 80$ and most people would do that over paying 200$ for a 160alt or getting a yellow top optima battery for 160$

What do you think?

they aren't used in the competition lane...all major SPL competitors use several alternators and batteries.
I don't like caps because they are a waste of money. In the long run, they are only hurting your cars electrical system. I'd much rather take my $80 and get my alternator rewound.

Hey Bro...you need to look in the caraudio magazine so you can see the caps being widely used....trust me I have researched it enough....also then why the hell do people waste money on them and why do shops sell so many? I have been told they do nothing up to they make your amp put out to its full capacity....Just wanting to know whats the deal?

i don't think they could rewind it that high, you'd probably have to get a new alternator. but in general, i think it's around $1 an amp, so you could probably get it rewound up to around 140-150ish, if u need more you'll probably need a new alt.

Why do people waste money on them? Because they think it will help their electrical system, and make their lights not dim. Because they think they are pretty. Because they want a cap, just so they can say "I have a cap".

Why do shops sell so many? Because they can mis-inform many people and make a lot of money.

Why do companies keep making them? Because as long as there is a demand for them, they are going to produce them, sell them, and make money.

I do not know why you see them so often in Mobile Electronics magazine's...maybe it is because they focus only on the looks of the install.
