THE Thread

Yeah tools are good. My dad had a ton because he groud-up restored a '40 Ford Delux and bought everything to do it back in the early '80's. So I was able to keep the Scout up and runnin'.

But at some point you gotta go..... hmmm..... $2,500 for a nice rust free Scout....... $6k+ in self-repairs..... and it still needs $2k in paint..... a $2k+ engine rebuild..... probably a new clutch plate..... and the most I've ever seen one sell for (fully restored) was $8,000...... that's just being dumb.

Sure I loved the thing to death and up to a point cost was no object, but we live in the real world //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
$8,000? Where's that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I've seen them more expensive than that, at least for a good 800 series in excellent condition. FJ's are easily double that.

Not too bad, not the year I like though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I like FJ55's too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
