im guessing your info is inaccurate. not sure how much i trust wikipedia

an actual site dedicated to medical info states it goes away with in a week with or without treatment. says nothing about only 17% of people that get it living.

in very rare cases, yes it can. im not saying i dont treat the symptoms and do everything i can to help my immune system fight off the bacteria. im just saying the infection will go away on its own in 3-7 days.

I have had more cases of strep throat than you could ever imagine, I even got my tonsuils (sp?) removed (there was a big scar on one of them that was harboring the bateria) I still get them every once in a while, but now I get mostly sinus infections...now those are FTL

So yeah, I went to the doctor today. I'd had a realllllly bad sore throat since yesterday. She took one look at me and said "Holy crap! This is the worst I've seen this year!"
I've been sleeping a buttload. Tylenol and sucrets are my best friends now. The back of my throat is covered in pus. It's exceedingly gross. My diet over the last couple days has consisted of water and milkshakes. (I had a chocolate-peanut butter one tonight ftmfw) But yeah... this is my third or fourth time with it.

Who else has been pwn3d by strep?

Get your tonsils(sp) pulled. Had that done when I was 14 and never had another strep throat again. I get the occasional soar throat, but nothing a good halls wont take care of.

I had it once very bad too,dam suxors big time....

my dr laughed when he looked at mine, he said it was the worst he had ever seen

and gave me some gel to numb my throat ,anti biotics and made me stay home for 2 weeks,I could not swallow nor eat

I had strep, then got over it for about 2 days, then caught it again. the 1st time sucked, but wasn't horrible. the 2nd time, i wanted to ****ing die.
