IIRC, you're supposed to get a warning email for the violation. If you ignore that, then you get subpoenaed.

I got verzion dsl and they said they will never give out customer information to the riaa. I think they had a court case aobut it?

I do download some songs also but im not doing anything illegal with them. I just dont wanna buy cds for just one song.

Keep us up to date I wanna know what happends. Eventually the riaa will sue the wrong person and they will get the foot up ther ***.

Ive never tried running a proxy to download stuff, but i imagine it would be slow considering u are relaying ur connection thru another computer.

wiping ur HD wont do a **** thing, no matter how many times u reformat, all ur information is still readable. Sometimes u can get programs to wipe stuff off ur HD but that takes a hella long time. Best thing to do is destroy ur hd and bury it somewhere. heh. 1st hand experience

Yeah, if you use BT, for chrissakes make sure it's just YOU and your FRIENDS on your OWN private setup, none of that huge public site shiet.
