The RIAA is after me........

i bet that when he downloaded what he thought was a music file was some kind of key logger that can track everymove he makes.

please answer ^^^
I had used KAZAA for about a year but I recently got rid of it about 2 months ago when I realized that it was the major source of most of the spyware that kept invading my computer. I started using Limeware after that and I've been spyware free since. From the e-mail I received I was supposed to have downloaded something back in Jan of this year which means that KAZAA would have been the program I was using.

As far a downloaded songs go my database consisted of about 1350 songs, and the killing joke about it is 2 months ago when my computer was so infested with spyware and virus' I had to have my hard drive completly wiped and reloaded, well guess what......my music database was lost in the process! I guess it goes to prove the case that there is no free ride......... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

RIAA is just music....but don't be fooled into believing that you're safe if you download movies, games, etc. etc. The RIAA, IFPI, etc. sub-contract the hunt for pirates out to companies like BayTSP and Media Enforcer who monitor all the popular P2P programs (Kazaa, Limewire, WinMX, and especially BitTorrent). It's quite easy to avoid getting caught, which is why you always hear stories about the average Joe who only has a few albums on his HD getting sued.

I'm a realist my freind, whatevers going to happen will happen, so theres no need to loose any sleep or pull out my hair or go hide under the bed. At my age and having lived and seen the things I have in my short 39 years here on this earth I guess I've learned to simply deal with things head on and try to be as best prepared as possible and let the chips fall were they may....... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Don't share files and don't use P2P programs. The key is to disable their ability to determine what you are doing. Sharing files is the biggest mistake people make, and P2P programs are the second, as you never know who the other peer is. Whoever mentioned newsgroups is on-point. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

Stopping the downloading sounds like a good ideal but what good will bouncing of the wall do you in the end...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
