The Rattler!

Your messin' with the best in the bussiness here so I'd be careful.
Still say for another 60 bucks you'd be amazed what U can get.
Be carefull of what?
What is so wrong with bandpass. I said it a hundred times, this is added to my current system, so I want the boom boom. I might change up later - who knows, who cares, get over it. I will take your advice about the rattles. I might have some other questions later.

Peace

I'm not trying to burn you but some of these guys could put a couple of 8s in a ported box that would hit harder and sound nicer than the sonys in a bandpass.

Trust me I started with 2 12" polk GNXs in a bandpass and couldn't understand way they dissed it either I spent 625 on it. Then I put 2 12 ks in a custom built box and was really impressed price 660 plus change. I felt incredibley stupid.

The only reason I have posted in this thread is because I have been before where you are at now. It is not an easy thing to find a set up that can accuratly reproduce music that way it was really ment to sound, espically when compaired to the studio. My system still lacks. I am simply offering suggestions for when you are ready to upgrade.

I think when smokeoff said to be careful he ment it because there are a lot of people on this forum that own shop, companies, world champs, editors and a lot of others that really are the best in the business. I had no clue of this when I joined. You get to be pretty fortunate when some of these guys take the time to share their expierence with you. It's like getting inside info. from the owner of the manufacture him self.

I want what I have and know why I have it, and it reproduces the subsonics like the records heard on rap stations good enough, jively as what I may have.

People aren't going out their way to give advice. They are on here for their ego and entertainment. There may be some good inside tracks on this forum, as on any forum. But for the most part, on this thread, one or two guys said something positive. I have learned a few things though, and find a positive meaning in wacky comments, but to tell you the truth, most of the comments are just self gratification hype. It's all good though, it's the name of the Internet forum game.
Speaker set ups, sizes, amps, enclosures, configurations, are all relative. You can't say a few 8z constructed good would blow away this and that or whatever. It depends what they are up against. It is all relative, and more than just a bunch of words posted, but I am taking it all in. It's all good.

just curious ... what other setups have you heard before?
-not tryin to be smart or negative or anything, just wondering
Not too many. I am new to car audio. Most of my friends thought I was nutz for getting this box for the truck. To tell you the truth, I might play with it for a while, but taking it in and out, while I haul my lights and DJ speakers will soon get to be a drag, unless I incorporate my "failure of a cabinate", as you all think, into my show set up for back up disco boom. Howz about that.
My comments about bandpass enclosure experience: It is my opinion that a bandpass enclosure should be added to a current full car system, as in bass and treble existing speakers. The bandpass is exclusivly made and set up (crossed over) to produce subsonics. That puts you into a 3 way system. A bandpass box is not made to be your only bass box unless you plan on missing out on frequencies. My bandpass box only plays the super low 808 bass, and kick drum. Therefore, when you listen to it, it is truly amazing. It kicks, thumps, and hums just when it is supposed to. Sometimes they sit there and not do anything, until its time. It is a whole different thing. It actually emulates a live concert, when a show is running a 3 or 4 way system, the subs kick out the super lows only, as in EV and EAW pro auditorium subs. So the sound you hear is as if you are in one of these shows, but the bandpass box reproduces the rumble only. You don't have to have a bandpass system to get a good sound. It's just if you want your car audio to sound most like a live concert hall (pro Rap or Go-Go style), you could stand to have some good 8 inch sealed subs or whatever to cover the rest of the bass, to go along with the bandpass exclusive subsonic enclosure.

alright, thats cool. whatever works for ya man. people on here will can tell ya about 20 different setups and all for the same price, but we all gotta start somewhere. aint nothin wrong with ya setup. if ya like it then it works. they already answered ya other question bout secondskin / dynamat etc. but good luck. once you decide to upgrade to a new system i suggest you come to these guys. they know whats best for ya money. as for now, just enjoy what ya got.

to elinimate rattles you must actually go to the back and locate the source.. (this part helps if you have a remote).

check all plastic panels etc.. anything that could be loose

DJMax22 just remember that you are the one that has to listen to your system everyday, so if it works for you that is all that matters. Of course there are a lot of subs for less/more money that are better, there will always be better subs. As I said befor Brown Bread, Second Skin, Fat Mat and Dynamat can all be found at Ebay for a good price. Either one will work just fine, it just depends on how much you want to spend. Put it everwhere, under the box, on the back door, behind the plastics, etc.

"Peak Power" is just something they advertise for suckers to buy there products. Looks like it works though...
I was only stateing that the sub handled more power not that I actually thought it was great becuase its peak was 1400 your comments really are annoying to read.

I could care less what you have to say but the fact that you have to act all superior to people who you disagree with really pisses me off and I think thats what a lot of you do before you even know what the hell your talkin about. You make me not wanna post on forums like this but I guess there will always be assholes like you everywhere you go.
