For those who don't know this is the very very first line of amps made by US Amps (1991). They are class A beasts overbuilt like every other US Amps from that era. From what I've read these are considered the hardest to find of all us amps.

This one is about 8/10 on the cosmetics, but stll not too bad looking at all.

Underrated Specs:

2 x 250W @ 4 ohms (12V)

2 x 375W @ 4 ohms (14.4V)

2 x 400W @ 2 ohms (12V)

2 x 600W @ 2 ohms (14.4V)

1 x 800W @ 4 ohms bridged (12V)

1 x 1200W @ 4 ohms bridged (14.4V)

Damping Factor: 1000 (best cone control you'll ever find)

S/N Ratio: 100db

There's a few posts out there of 500a's doing a clean 1400w rms and up to 175amps of current draw. I'm sure if it has it's own battery back near where it's mounted it'll stay fed nicely.

i was surfing around lookign for more 500a info when i stumbled upon some ah-mazing photos.

these are not my photos, i do not have these amps, but man i can only imagine.....if these belong to someone here plz claim the awesomeness.

Long ones were the VLX200 and VLX400.

I love the way the OS US Amps board design is clean and simple. Though they used the best components available so they were power houses and not cheap to fix. I have the 200x for my comps and it has a ton of headroom.
