As the original question was asking about a coy behind you flipping on his lights, what are your chances of getting away, the obvious answer is...nearly impossible. Cops try to avoid high speed chases at all costs....they typically won't pursue you into a high speed chase for just a minor traffic violation (they usually only pursue if they think the car's stolen, or you are trafficking drugs, or some serial killer). Instead of pursuing and endangering innocent lives, and because they already have your license # (probably already had this run through their system before even turning on their lights), they will just meet you at your house, slap the cuffs on you, give you the ticket for whatever you did to get them to pull you over, and then arrest you for wreckless driving and evading a police officer.

ive done it a few times, it just depends, if there comming the from the other way and u see them slow down, u can do it or if your on a freeway and there on the side.. trust me, its not that hard, just think smart and it helps when u have a fast car with out of state plates like my g/f's audi, never get pulled over in that and when i do they never right a ticket cause its to much work for them cause the car is from cali

i agree with this guy. the Indiana state cop cars have 4.6L V8's with the "police package" upgrade. from what I've been told by a state trooper, the governor kicks in @ 150 or 155 (don't remember which one). those things have some balls. and unless you are in a car that you payed 100k$ for, you better pull over and get a 100$ speeding ticket.

idk about that...they are quick for a 4500lb machine but it wouldnt be that hard to get away form(vette,^100k??).. the new interceptors with the new pi heads do 240hp..tourqe??? but more then any 6 cyl or ricer can handle...my mecr has the same motor but only with the 215hp system...its def got a little kick..nothin to show off about ,but ya know

p.s...cop cars are made to be beat the sh!t out of....it will out run any car reliabilty wise in a chase, and bein safer while doin it...

I eluded one many years ago. It was in town and we met each other going opposite directions. It was after leaving the bar and I had a good lead since he had to turn around. I just slammed on the gas and hit some side roads. It was all over after I got off the main drag and he was to far behind to keep track of were I was going. Very Very scarry and stupid but I lucked out. I had alot to loose weather I pulled over or ran and got caught so I seen it was my only option.

But that was a long time ago and I have changed alot.

Running is not something you plan it is something that happens and if your lucky once you grow some fur on your nuts you'll probably realize how much of an idiot you were, otherwise you'll be looking at two strikes minimum and maybe even a 1st degree manslaughter charge for killing someone while comitting your crime of running.

I only got one charge on me after 3 years of court and lawyers expenses (down from 19 initial charges, all felonies ranging from burglary, weapons, drugs, evading, assault on a officer-phckin police dogs). And that was the only time I ever got busted even though I had been messing up for a long time. Try getting a job with 2 strikes, you wanna be firemam, own a gun, vote? Forget it. To any cops out there, yeah I messed up but I've been doing good for over 10 years now, sober and I got God in my life. And I support any legislation that will allow the use of deadly force to stop any ******* who runs. I am sick and tired of seeing some inocent family killed by a jackass who did'nt want to get a ticket or is on his 30th DUI. Just like the saying says, if you can't do the time don't do the crime. As for you guys that say the cops won't chase you for a ticket, come to LA, they'll chase you and whoop your *** just for a ticket.
