I'm getting a MD3 soon, and i know you USAmps guys have a forum over there on SSausio.com, but i was wondering if theres any input sensitivity ratings on the MD3.

May be the wrong technical term for it, but i know some amps dont see a difference after 5v preouts. i ask this because im wanting to run the MD3 off an Eclipse cd5000 just because of the 8v preouts, and was sacrificing dsome features i like on other decks just because of the 8v preout..

In short what im asking is will i see a difference using USAmps from a 5 to 8 v preout.

Lot heavier and better built than the MD2. I had the 2005 MD2 and now the 2006 MD3. If I wasn't saying for grad school, I would buy another.

you are aware that the MD2D is a Merlin amp, correct?

and no merlin amp was ever a bad amp and the new ones actually put out a tad less power becayse they can be strapped, where the old ones could not.

No. If you don't have noise, you will see no audible benefits switching to 8v pre-outs.

I had the 2005 MD2 and now the 2006 MD3....

Believe it or not but there was or maybe still is this local electronics place here in Houston that sold some low budget car audio called Merlon. I actually had a pair of 12' subs. The specs only read 1500w peak power, nothing else. No RMS. I hooked them up to my Memphis 1000d reference and I was actually expecting alot worst, but yea teh sukked badly. They lasted a few weeks then bye bye.

which is why they scrapped the strapping idea. the 2006's put out the same as the older ones

you know funny story...i was going to huntington beach, missed my exit and i ended up in inglewood. i started seeing black people and i was like...dang i think i went the wrong way.

it actually looked kinda nice over there...not as ghetto as i expected. peeple seemed friendly but i was mos def out of place there lol....3 asians in inglewood...
