Such a beautiful breed of dog. Do you keep them indoors, and if so, how much of a problem do you have with them shedding?
they shed terrible, especially in the spring and summer. they spend the night inside most of the year. it's hard now to get them to stay outside because they grew up in an apartment, but they stay outside most of the day when it's above 40 degrees. my female doesn't shed anywhere near as bad as the male. i can get a grocery bag of hair out of him every day almost. i deal with it. they're personalities out weigh any negatives. i've owned boxers, pit bulls and rotts before my huskies and i won't go back. they, by far, are a much more interesting dog. they get in to alot of mischief though. it's something you have to deal with when you own huskies.

I have a long history of dogs that shed fairly badly and definitely know what you mean by being able to take a grocery bag of hair out of a single dog day after day. Right now, I have 4 dogs, all of which are somewhere between shepherd and collie mixes. One even has a little chow in her.

Just never had a husky and I want to get one as soon as I get a chance to. Do the females in general shed less than the males, or is that just a distinction between your two?

females shed just as bad. ever since she got pregnant and had puppies, she just hasn't grown a big under coat. she use to shed just as bad. if i made her stay outside, she'd grow it back and shed normal probably. she's a wierd husky. she hates the cold.
