Willis would be interesting if he could throw strikes. It seems like he Rick Ankiel'd us. I whole heartedly believe he should get some work in the OF.

Knobler is reporting the Tigers will not get a closer and may release Willis.

Closer is an overrated role. Your best arms should be your 7th and 8th inning guys who come on with runners on base. The save stat is overrated. Tigers have a lot of bullpen arms in the minors. Word is Fien may even be the closer. As it stands, Rodney is the closer.

I've looked at there minor league prospects...some comin up, but it will take a bit to get back to how it was.

The save stat is overrated sure, but one thing that really pisses me off is blowing a lead or a multi-run lead like the tigers did so much last year:verymad:

The Tigers also hired Rick Knapp. I heard good things about him. He helped develop all the arms in Minnesota including Santana although he didn't spend much time in the minors. Minnesota also was one of the best in walk rate whereas Detroit was terrible in walking hitters. With some good health the Tigers staff shouldn't be too bad.

Phils sign Ibanez to 3yr/30M.

One of the more underrated players the past few seasons, should be a nice replacement for Burrell.
