Monroe was second to Ortiz in 06 in "game winning" RBI's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Does that mean he was a good player or MVP?
...and that's where the comparison to Ortiz stops abruptly.

Monroe hit .250, with an OBP of .300. Far from being good.

Ortiz, hit .287 with a .415 OBP.

You're taking one facet of the game and revolving around it.

You said Arod is a better player than Pujols, but Pujols is a better hitter.

What is Arod better at then? Pujols is a better defender, and a better CLUTCH hitter. Pujols not only bats .330, hits 40hr and drives in 120, but hits when it matters. Arod, doesn't.

a-rod plays a position that requires more skill then Pujols. Pujols plays first because he sucked at 3rd and the OF. Comparing a 3B/SS to a 1B in terms of defense is no comparison.

My comparison with Monroe is that throwing around clutch is just silly.

I wouldn't go that far. First base is a difficult position to play, and Pujols wasn't bad at all at 3rd/OF, considering he platooned between the 3 for a while.

Clutch by itself doesn't mean much, but when you're comparing players, the stats don't mean much if they're accomplished in cleanup time against the Royals and A's.

So do you got some sort of evidence that suggests A-rod hits during cleanup time? Or is this just subjective observation? I'm sorry but I'll take a more productive player like a-rod then some supposed clutch player like Pedroia. BTW, didn't Pedroia go 0-17 to start the playoffs?

I've watched enough Yankee games to know that Arod can't hit in the clutch...this is a known fact...anyone that watches baseball in NY knows Arod disappears when it matters.

I'm not comparing Arod and Pedrioa...Pedroia hasn't even established himself yet. I'm comparing Arod and Pujols...and I'd take Pujols any day..

That is subjectivity. The only time I really watched the Yankees was 06 and well, he did **** then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
