**The MLB Thread**

Well, I now know where all my posts went too.

Oh well, imgaine that!

Cleveland is in last place, because they have had more big injuries than any team in baseball this year.

Hafner, Martinez, Westbrook, Carmona among others.

Then they had to ship Michaels off and Francisco has been our one bright spot and out BP is in shambles!

Only CC and Lee and Laffey are pitching well right now, Sowers and Byrd just ****! Need to send them both down IMO.

We will be lucky to win 70 games this year, with all the shit that has happened.

Cabrera bailed out Jones last night. Awesome game.

Don't give me that injury excuse. Detroit had a ton of injuries last year and were in the race till the end. Hell this year they lost Sheffield and Bonderman and are making a come back. They were also without Rodney and Zumaya for the entire year until now.

Also didn't I say Carmona would be on the DL from all the increased innings he pitched last year?

You guys have better roster up and down, so when we lose our major players, it will hurt us more.

Still think it is funny with all the money you spent, you still ****! Should have one of the better records in the league with the cash spent.

Christ about the innings Carmona pitched. I thought is was about CC anyway and he is one of the hottest pitchers in the league. Probably won't be an Indian much longer, but still impressive. Also Carmona had the winter off and rested up, just like anyone else did. He got hurt running to first base at the game I was at. Had nothing to do with him even throwing. He injured his hip when he came off the mound funny. So your point is moot.

Maybe you didn't notice the 16-4 streak the Tigers are on, and in the middle of the division race. No one will give a shit how they get there as long as they get there.

Magglio leaves the game with an injury and Raburn comes in and hits a grand slam, then gets a walk in the 9th and scores the game winning run.

I would be embarrassed as all hell to be the GM of that team and just not pulling to .500. That is just sad.

Also you were saying they would have one of the better records last year in the league, so whatever.

Sox or Twins will take the divison anyway.

Dombrowski is embarrassed for taking a franchise that had never won anything in a decade and turning it into a World Series team in only 3 seasons. I'm sure he's embarrassed for fleecing Seattle in the Guillen trade, or Philadelphia in the Polanco trade, or signing Magglio, or drafting Verlander or Granderson, or maybe he is embarrassed in the fact he has taken the franchise and turned it into one the successful ones financially as the Tigers rank 3rd in attendance and signed one of the largest TV contracts. Did I even mention what he did in Florida? The fact that he drafted Beckett, and originally signed Cabrera? I won't even get started on what he did in Montreal. If any GM should be embarrassed, it's Minaya. They are only a couple 100k behind Detroit and falling quickly and the way they handled the Willie Randolph situation was very classless.

I am talking about this year dummy.

Signed Cabrera, Renteria, Willis and have one of the higer payrolls in the league I believe.

Never said shit about how good Dombroski was at getting FA or whatnot, but this hasn't been a stellar year so far for the Tigers.

Your the one that was stating they would have one of the best records.

Still a long way away though, but they played like ish in the beginning, same with the Indians, but our injuries and us not hitting or our BP doing well leads to our demise.

I think the White Sox have the best chance myself. I hate them, but they are good.

but u gotta look at it this way .. Cabrera was the blue chip in that trade ... any one including their gm could see that Willis was on the decline ,.. if they didn't they are morons

unfortunately giving up Andrew miller is going to more detrimental then giving up maybin ... its so tough to find a lefty arm that throws 94+ with an exceptional curve and change ... he just needs to mature ... u can always find an outfielder with good speed and a little pop ... they are a dime a dozen

They didn't sign Renteria. He has a team option for next year. Cabrera was an excellent trade and sign. A 25 year old who has put up hall of fame numbers and compares to Albert Pujols is an excellent move in my book. The Tigers lost Bonderman for the year, Sheffield has been injured the whole year, Zumaya and Rodney were gone the whole year, now Magglio is injured so don't give me your crap on injuries. When I talked about the Tigers injuries last year, you just brushed me off. Who cares if they win 99 games or 89 games, as long as they get into the playoffs.

Florida made Detroit take Willis because they wanted to get rid of his contract. I still would've traded the same 7 players just for Cabrera. I'll be surprised if any of the 3 mid-level prospects become anything more then effective relief pitchers. The meat of this deal was Maybin and Miller for Cabrera. The rest was just filler.

oh i agree ... cabrera is a prime talent .. he just needs to be in shape ...

if he dropped 20 pounds hed be back to hitting 325 40 130 100 runs .... hard to get the bat head around when he have a gut to swing over
