**The MLB Thread**

5 years from now when you are paying a 35 year old pitcher 25 million, I don't think you will be as happy with this trade. I cannot imagine what would've been if Juan Gonzalez would've signed that huge contract.

well...Pedro is 36

we'll see what he does this year //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW..we need Santana now...desperately. That was the only way to get him.

Alot of pitchers have done well at 34-35

Well if you feel paying 20 million to a pitcher who pitched in 5 games is good then so be it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
bleh

we have no control over injuries

but I think under $20mill a year for the best pitcher in baseball is a bargain

he does so much for a team

plus....like I said before, the Mets can afford it

Just because a team can afford it, doesn't make it good. The Yankees can afford the piece of shit they put on the field, but they really could've maximized the amount of money they spent.
Santana = best pitcher in baseball

you wouldve been upset if the Tigers paid Santana 19-20 million a year?

Santana & Verlander...nice one-two punch, no?

Right now, no, but signing him longer term for over 100 million, the Mets will be paying for it at the end. I'd rather pay Cabrera 20 million per for 10 years since he is only 24, and position players are more reliable then pitchers.
