**The MLB Thread**

Right now, no, but signing him longer term for over 100 million, the Mets will be paying for it at the end. I'd rather pay Cabrera 20 million per for 10 years since he is only 24, and position players are more reliable then pitchers.
I understand what you are saying

but, this was the only way we couldve acquired him

the Mets didnt want to go over 5 years

I dont think he'll be that bad at age 35 in the NL

17-9 3.35 ERA 190 IPs 200 Ks is possible

bostons rotation will be Beckett, Dice-K, Lester, Wake and Bucholtz... they didnt have schilling some last year and lester didnt hardly play until august. plus if they move some junk they should get another pitcher under a 9 era LOL

something tells me Willis is going to have a good year

I hate to admit it...cus the mets couldve gotten him for cheap

the Mets rotation is still better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

During an appearance on WFAN’s Mike and the Maddog, Tigers manager Jim Leyland had the following to say about Johan Santana…

“Well, it didn’t bother me one bit (laughing). Actually I think we (the Tigers) beat him three times last year, we really blasted him, we beat him 1-0, 2-1 and 2-0 (laughs all around). He’s a great pitcher, he’ll be a great addition to the Mets. I think in particular, I think he has a chance to be even better (in New York) because, and is this not being critical, you got the eighth hitter and the pitcher, and that’s what worries me about Dontrelle, the eighth hitter and the ninth hitter in the AL might have 20 HR.”
