going of last year he would have done nothing to be bostons number 1 over beckett MR 1st grade reading capacity. also judging from what varitek has said Dice K will be a mother f'er come next summer same thing that he predicted Beckett being last year....only difference is Dice has alot more pitches.

also see that in one of santana's post season losses he had an era of over 10!

Do you realize how negligible the difference is between their ERA's? Santana, if you averaged his earned runs over games played, he would average 2.45 runs per game, Beckett 2.43. Santana also gave up only 9 more earned runs then Beckett.

How come you are so determined not to go past 2007? It's really not even fair to judge players on one season. You are just wanting to compare Santana on his worst season and Beckett on his best.

because you cant do what i asked just like i knew you couldnt. also lets YOU see how dumb some of the stats you use are misleading......not saying they arent meaningful to some degree but to say they "prove" anything is simply retarded.

also they both played a full season and comparing full years. 2007 is more in the now than 2005 is.

Beckett gives up a run every 2.79 innings, so roughly 7 more earned runs if he pitched as much as Santana. That would put Beckett at 80 ER, and Santana at 81 ER.

you cant say that. he could have even done better or FAR worse.

If you want to bring up playoffs, you have to go pre 2007

nice try dip shit, you know exactly what i mean in bringing up the playoffs for this year..if you do beckett had a better post season than regular season which makes the gap larger. if you go post season to post season Beckett is still better all you want to do is bring up other years
