**The MLB Thread**

what happened as recently, with who? ok but since you already stated that they all threw no faster than 70mph it shouldnt matter that they pitched more innings....i was playing catch at 70mph when i was 12!!!! lol
You were not playing catch at 70 MPH at 12 years old. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif What is with you Cleveland people? First fat bastard is running 4.3 40's, now you are throwing long toss at 70 MPH

I just mentioned who.

Nolan Ryan was one of the first of his kind. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
It wasn't until the late 70's and into the 80's pitchers started throwing harder. There is no question pitchers throw harder now then before.
so men born between 1960 and present someone evolved so that we can pitch faster? ur telling me there was absolutely no one in the bigs that could clock even 80? thats a moronic assumption on someone that claims to be such a great baseball fan.

from what i understand babe ruth was a fat slob in absolutely terrible shape so tell me how he was able to hit a 50-70 mph pitch as far as they say he did.....if youve ever hit a baseball you know that the faster the pitch the further the ball.....thats why in mens softball you dont see 450 foot shots.......even with the crazy 2 oz bats made of titanium!!!

There windups are totally different, and baseball players now train all year long and take steroids. Watch Paul Byrd pitch and watch someone like Zumaya pitch. Zumaya has a much bigger leg drive, and a more violent arm motion. Byrd is very easy and fluid to the plate, he still has a bigger leg drive, but he is the closest you'll see to an old school delivery. That is why pitchers back then pitched a lot more innings. Their windups were much less stressful, but their velocity wasn't the same.

Dumbass, he still hits 90 from time to time. So 10mph makes a guy huh. Zumaya sucked this year anyway. STFU with your bullshuit you spew out. You are disgusting.

I played football, baseball, and basketball in high school //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Ivan Rodriguez doesn't even throw 70 MPH in a normal throwing motion, so I doubt you were throwing 70 MPH. If that were the case, you could probably throw mid 90's from the windup as a 12 year old which is bullshit. I watched part of the little league series, and in a full windup off the mound, they were only throwing in the 60's, so I know for a fact you were not playing catch at 70 MPH.

LOL 10 MPH is a lot. Zumaya was injured and could never get up to 100 like he was last year and got rocked, so that difference in velocity did make a difference.

anyone can play sports for their high school squad.....did you ever play a summer league that you actually had to try out for....AAU, Mickey Mantle league etc......and yes i could throw 70 mph as a 12 yr old.......im not saying that every throw i ever made as a 12 yr old was a 70mph throw.... im just saying that when throwing hard 70 was no major feet...

i dont know why you are so hung up on this "full windup" stuff....are you saying verlander cant hit mid 90's from the stretch?

yes he can, I've seen him do it from the stretch. No way you were throwing 70 MPH. Off a mound it is more believable but still bullshit.

Most pitchers get their velocity from their legs. Watch Verlander pitch and Kenny Rogers. Verlander has a long stride and falls off the mound. Rogers has a short stride, and does not fall off to one side, but doesn't have the velocity Verlander has.

10 MPH can be the difference between a changeup and a fastball LOL. Clearly bigfagtheory has never played baseball.
I played 18 years of baseball. I was more a baseball player than anything else. If you like one day when over my parents I will post all my achiements to shut you up. I am sure they are more impressive than anything you have ever done. Over 40 trophies, in the paper for no hitters, talking with coaches in the minor leagues. I even tried out for a class A team, but got into a car accident. I have mentioned this before to you a long, long time ago, but your are an idiot. So imagine that. Played all the way from Pee-wee to high school and fall leagues here and there. I used to be able to pitch in the 90's at 17. I don't know about 12 though.

Now you've benched 400 pounds, run a 4.3 40, and now throw a 90+ MPH fastball? Anything else fatboy wonder?
