The season has not started yet and my team is making lame choices in the off-season.

Cleveland got a good 2nd baseman in Barfield. I really think that was a good pick up. Young and has good power and speed and looks to be a decent fielder to boot. Then adding Dellucci who has power is a good pick up as well. Then that got a couple relievers too. Names not coming to me at this moment, but they have been one of the more active teams this off season.

Cleveland's problems are NOT with their offense. Their problems are with the pitching staff. Outside of Sabathia they really don't have much for pitching. Their bullpen was nothing to write home abuot. So unless they think they can out slug all their opponents they're going to have yet another sub par year. The reason the Tigers did so well last year was GREAT pitching and timely hitting. For some reason Cleveland hasn't gotten that yet.

BTW, this is not a slam at Cleveland. Just stating what I've seen from the past few seasons.

i never really cared about mesa till he joined the tigers so this wasn't something that would interest me. why the tigers signed him is questionable, however it allows the tigers to shorten the game, with mesa, rodney, zumya, jones
I think the Tigers need to focus on fp for their pitchers. You know, catching a ground ball and being able to throw to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Lol.

and chicago's pitchers will have to focus on how to pitch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Actually you are kinda wrong. They won 96 games 2 years ago with the same excat starting rotation minus Elarton. There problems were with their relief pitching. Sabathia, Lee and Westbrook are good. Lee lost a lot of low scoring games as well did Westbrook. Their ERA's compared to the rest of the league werent that bad. They let go a good guy last year in Bob Howry and had some injuries to Matt Miller and Raefel Beatencourt. Then Fautsmo Carmona did horrible along side with Fernando Cabrerra. So now they picked up Aaron Fultz who is decent and Joe Borkowski who could be the closer. So I think with them and as long as Beatencourt and Fultz can do decent I am calling them to win close to 90 games and making a playoff run. I highly doubt they will have the season they did last year. Hell in the beginning, they were saying Cleveland was the favorite to win the WS. Then they turned out to be the most dissappointing team.

they won 93 games //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif their rotation is solid. they need consistency from sabathia, lee will give them some good starts, westbrook is solid, and sowers didn't look to bad. they filled their major weakness in the bullpen but don't have a bonafide closer, and they picked up mostly journeymen relievers. i predict cleveland will finish second in the division. chicago 3rd, minnesota 4th, kansas city last, although much improved.

My mistake, I was just trying to remember. Didnt feel like looking it up. I was at least close. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think your right about everything you mentioned. I think that will be their downfall if the do just sub par this year and blame it on their relief pitching and the closer. I really think they should make Raefel Beatencourt the closer. But the is just IMO. He is younger, has good arm strength and has a nasty curve. They are thinking that Borkowski will be their close though and I am not to happy about that. But hey, I am just a fan. No need to get mad over it.

we'll trade todd jones for hafner. zumya is ready to be a closer so we don't need jones

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif That would so ****! I might just stop watching baseball if they got rid of Hafner period! I would kill the whole staff if they traded him for Jones.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Thank god that would never happen.
