I'm kinda liking the approach the Dodgers are taking. Bringing guys up through their organization like they used to in the old days. Russ Martin, Andre Ethier, etc. Sure they went and got some free agents but if they didn't someone else would and that would end up biting them in the ***.

I used to like the Dodgers when Sheffield and Piazza were on a team back in the 90's i was really hooked on baseball back then.

sheffield and piazza were never on the same team.

Sheffield is older but he won't try to dictate to the manager how many games he's going to play. Bonds was actually doing that out in SF and they let him get away with it.

it's just the simple fact there really is no room on the roster to give magglio, sheffield and bonds playing time. you could try sheffield in left and bonds dh.

i also read the tigers are interested in getting baldelli from tampa. might not be a bad move. move granderson down in the lineup and baldelli will be in improvment over monroe in left and can package monroe for a left handed reliever and catching prospect.
