i wouldn't be too happy. terrible deal. 8 years to a 30 year old? only 1 40 home run season and 2 100 rbi season equals this kind of contract? a career 280 average and career 325 obp, 836 strikeouts compared to 224 walks and he is gonna leadoff? not too mention a no trade clause and a contract that no one will not, i see disaster written on this one. i seem the same with carlos lee if he signs a huge deal

Not for 5 years it isn't. He also hit over .300 after the break last season. He covers alot of ground in the outfield and he stole 58 bases.

So tell me what is so wrong with a slap and run hitter when he runs very well and in case you didn't know he is a lead off hitter.

the guy has very little power, lacks plate discipline for a leadoff hitter, 32 walks in 699 ab's, career high of 32 doubles, and when you combine that with his speed you know he has little power, putrid slugging percent, and he really is average defensively, his speed makes up for his deficiencies. not a 9 millions per type player
