Cards pitching isn't very good. Even Isringhausen has blown a lot of saves this year.

Exactly, that has been a problem for them this year but it has been a problem for the White Sox too so are you going to count them out too?? Of course you're not because you never know when they might come out of the funk and start being effective again. Just like the Cards pitching could too. Carpenter pitched a 2 hit shutout over the Dodgers tonight, not too shabby.

Not only am I not so sure about the Red Sox but I'm not totally sold on the Mets yet. No offense Slammed but the Mets have shown tendencies to NOT score runs especially when Pedro is on the hill. Not only that, the Cardinals are starting to heat up now that Pujols is 100%.
All in all, anything can happen and when the post season gets here I will make my picks and go from there.

Like I said, anything can happen in the playoffs.

But what we really need right now is a decent starter!

Omar Minaya is looking at Bobby Abreu (I dont think we need him)...as well as Javy Vasquez, Livan Hernandez, and Freddy Garcia.

We just need one more piece and we're set.

BTW...the Cards dont scare me. They lack pitching. When we faced the Cards this year (in St. Louis) we lost the series but we played well (W 8-3, L 0-1, L 3-6)

Dontrelle would be great...but teh Fish want more than just Milledge

we can wait to get Zito in the offseason

Soriano.....well.....his defense bothers me plus he's not really a team player. We would also have to give up the farm for him!

Vasquez would be great...for the year.

**** straight. Thats what makes the game so entertaining to watch or atleast follow every year. I will be working a ton of hours the rest of the summer and won't be able to catch as much baseball as I did the 1st half.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Luckily I should be done with the overtime by the fall classic.

We just need one more piece and we're set.

Tigers, Mets, White Sox, Red Sox, Yankees, etc, etc, etc all are saying that right now. Tigers could use a closer. Cards could use a quality starter. Mets want another starter too. White Sox are too conceited to think they need anything at this point but you can see there is SOMETHING missing at this point.

Whether they scare you or the Mets or not at this point is irrelevant as this doesn't mean the danger is not present. The Cards have POTENTIALLY great line up and if that sleeping giant is awakened, look out. Not saying they will wake up in time to win a championship but you never know.

Vasquez has a relationship with Omar (Expos). I think he would be a good fit with us.

Oh, so you don't think they would have to give up alot to get those guys. Have you ever given any thought to the fact that maybe one of the reasons the Mets are doing so well this year could be alot to do with team chemistry?? You might get alot of talent in those 2 players but what if you disrupt team chemistry?? You just might lose more than you gain.

Just something to think about.
