The team with the best record in the league (which is Detroit right now) would play the wildcard unless they're in the same division. In that case they play the lower of the 2 remaining division winners.

Can't wait for the series against Detroit. It will definitely tell us a lot. First we need to take the next 2 from the Yanks. Wouldn't look very good us going 2-4 or 1-5 vs yanks and red sox.

There are 3 divisions per league

In the American League there's the AL East, Central, and West

Same with National League

The team with the best record in each division makes the playoffs.

Then, the next best team in either league gets into the playoffs via the wildcard.

Mets vs. Red Sox in the Fall Classic

Not only am I not so sure about the Red Sox but I'm not totally sold on the Mets yet. No offense Slammed but the Mets have shown tendencies to NOT score runs especially when Pedro is on the hill. Not only that, the Cardinals are starting to heat up now that Pujols is 100%.

All in all, anything can happen and when the post season gets here I will make my picks and go from there.

Like I said, anything can happen in the playoffs.

I thought it was over in the 9th, but Atl's bullpen couldn't hold up.

Cards pitching isn't very good. Even Isringhausen has blown a lot of saves this year.
