**The MLB Thread**

detroit won and goes 3 games ahead of chicago. also have a chance to win 60 games before the all-star break. zach miner has really pitched well in replace of mike maroth. maybe detroit goes to a 6 man rotation when maroth comes back?
Yeeaaaahhhhh baby.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif They're 1 win away from 60. They only won 71 games all last year. Talk about a turnaround.

Thome has MORE dramatic homeruns in his career then Hafner can dream of at this point in his career. There are NO guarantees that Hafner will ever reach Thome's numbers and atleast Jim Thome used to play the field earlier in his career. Hafner only plays defense in National league parks. Overall he has had a much better career and Hafner hasn't really proved anything yet. But I must stress the word YET. He does show some promise as a GREAT dh and we'll just have to wait and see how he shapes up before its all said and done.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

He started out at first base just like Thome did. They both moved to dh becasue neither one of them are outstanding fielders, period. Also cant say he has more dramatic homeruns since Thome has played a lot more years than Hafner has. I truely believe that Hafner will be just as big if not bigger. He is still very young and like you said has much promise. He really should have made the allstar game. Hell there was a whole article about him on msnbc sports about why he should be in it. Oh well, such is luck with Cleveland players weather they are having a good year or a bad year.

hahaha!

Cleveland loses!!

dont mess with me BigBang //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Well then go to a live Cleveland game and root for the opposite team. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

For me to argue with you on this would be silly because you make as many valid points as I do. My whole point was to why Thome deserved to be in there. Your point is why Hafner does. Truth is, they both deserve to be in the All Star game. My other point is you can't put him in the same league with Thome until he has AS MANY good years that Thome has had and time is the only thing that will tell if that is true.

man...well as of right now, I have to admit....Boston has better pitching. I dotn know about hitting statistically because we are 2nd in baseball to....I dont know who...maybe its Boston...and i cant say definsively, because our defense is solid as hell...but they def. have the pitching. and in this series, the hitting.

Boston is beating Chicago because of hitting and they are taking advantage of Chicago's mistakes. Prime example...Konerko up with 1 out runners on 1st and 3rd, all he needs to do is hit a fly ball deep enough to score the run and he hits a shallow pop up. Then Dye has a chance and strikes out.
