The biggest reason is that Jim Thome plays for the team with the 2nd best record in MLB. Not only that he is one of the main reasons they are in that situation because of his HUGE homeruns. He doesn't just hit homeruns, he hits homeruns with games on the line. I guess the best way to describe him is to say that he is CLUTCH. I know I voted for Thome and I did not vote for Hafner. I'm not taking anything away from Hafner, I think he's an absolute beast but right now Thome is better.

I in no way think Thome is better than Hafner at this stage of the game. I mean yeah he hits some big homeruns in clutch situations, but the same can be said for Hafner who has also came back and won some games for the Indians. I mean Thome is having a good year and I am happy for him, but his last 2-3 years were nothing to write home about where as Hafner really has yet to have a bad year and he does get hurt alot but never seems to really affect how well he plays. Maybe in Thomes prime he was better. I just see Hafner given he can stay healthy in his career will put up just as good numbers as Thome or better.

To snb, I see you hating on the Indians and its cool and all. But just remember last year when we where making you *****es moan and groan till the very end. Your lucky we didnt take the division, but we **** right now due to the shitty pitching. Mark my words, if our pitching comes around then look out once again. At least next year we might be better with the add on of the top Twaineese pitcher from the past few seasons. His numbers are off the chart. I cant wait to see him in uniform.

people shouldn't vote for all-stars anymore. this bs of cities marketing players to get in is ridiculous. all over the news was vote for pudge, but he didn't deserve to be a starter. also this all-star from every team is bs. why the hell is mark redman an all-star, justin verlander and francisco liriano are not all-stars?

Also correct me if I am wrong, but 1 player from each team has to be represented. So that is why I think Mark Redman made it. I still think it is funny as hell, but hey that is how they run shit. Dummest rule in baseball its called and I have to agree with it being dumb. So many talented people deserve to be in it, but dont make it due to shit like this, hence why I dont watch the all star game besides the Homerun Derby.

It's not about who you like or dislike, it's about who can you rely on to hep you get a win so if your team makes it to the world series, you will have home field advantage.
