too bad dimitri has struggled on and off the field. chris shelton is really sputtering
Yeah, Dimitri is really letting the Tigers down right now. He is like a complete NON-factor at this point in the season. Shelton is struggling if you compare what he was doing at the beginning of the season. But realistically he isn't doing that bad. This is his first FULL year in the "bigs" and he is still learning. Let's also not forget that Shelton is already a much better defensive 1st baseman than Dimitri could dream of being.

that's what i heard, that's why there is no room for crawford.

I would take Crawford out of anyone in the Detriot Tigers line-up no matter how much one person is tearing it up in a given week. Crawford has everything. Sprays the ball everywhere, has some pop, always getting on base, one of the faster players in the league, great club house player to boot and a very good outfielder. What has Thames done in the past?? Hell Crawford would fit anywhere. To me he is one of the hottest trade pics in a while. His stats are something to bark about.

Actually Thames is a completely different type of player than Crawford so comparing them is an apples to oranges comparison. Thames is still under 30 and is only being paid $342k this year while Crawford is bringing in 2.6 mil. so its not like they could just even up trade for him. Give Granderson a year or 2 and he will be as good or better than Crawford. Not to mention Granderson won't be a lead-off hitter for too much longer, I figure in a year or 2 he'll be in the middle of the lineup driving in runs.

I guarentee you that Granderson wont be better than Crawford. Plus you are also comparing someone who dont make that much to Crawford, so dont know why you said that about my comment. Wasnt saying to trade Thames for Crawford. Was just saying Thames isnt anything to write home about. I mean he is having a decent year so far, but I highly doubt it will last. Also Crawford isnt that old and has many years left in him. So would be good pick up for Detriot if they went that route. But last time I seen them talking about Crawford, he didnt want to leave TB. I guess he has really made a home there and likes to play for a **** a-s-s team. Then again TB has some talented offensive players, just there pitching sucks a-s-s besides Kazmir.

lol carl crawford a better hitter the magglio ordonez //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

granderson has more home runs, rbi's, doubles, way higher on base %, higher slugging percentage, zero errors in his career ,more runs scored, more walks, more extra base hits, a higher ops, but clearly crawford is the much superior hitter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

crawford has a little higher batting average, all though granderson is coming on and his avg is up to a respectable 295, and crawford has ore stolen bases. if the tigers just want speed they'll call up nook logan. also granderson is in his first full season, so he is gonna be a middle of the lineup guy in the future

and thames never got a good oppurtunity till now to play. throughout his career he was a good home run hitter. just check out his ab to hr ratio throughout his career

for his career he has averaged a home run every 15.3 at bats

Who the hell said he was a better hitter than Ordonez. Read what I am writing slick! Granderson has 1 more hr, same amount of RBI, .30 more of obp(wow huge difference).12 more slugging(Considering Crawford is such a power hitter.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif ) Crawford has played in less games, has more hits, more triples, way more steals, way less strikeouts. I mean granderson has 84 already, not to mention Crawford has .17 higer of a batting average. Also Crawford has won a golden glove in the outfield. So there really isnt any comparsion. The only thing I can see Granderson doing better than crawford is hitting for power. I see Granderson hitting mid 20's, which Crawford at most has hit 15 even though he should surpass that this year. Also Crawford is a Triples king. Think he had 19 the one year. I would take good pop, great outfielder, hits for average, steals bases like a mad man over a decent outfielder with power. Thats just me, but If you dont want him, would be nice to see Cleveland or Oakland pick him up, but that I doubt.

Yeah he does, but however his lifetime .251 average isnt anything to root about. Part time or not. Also I see he has 15hrs and a whopping 28Rbi's. So he might be hitting them out, but usually no one is on base.

dude .30 is a lot in terms of on base percentage. crawford is batting 312 with a 355 obp. granderson is batting .17 less then him but still has a .30 higher obp. granderson has yet to make an error in his career and carl crawford hasn't won a gold glove. like i said all those stats are in granderson's favor and granderson is right there with crawford and he is only in his first full season, so to say crawford is better then granderson will ever be is simply ignorant on your part. also granderson has come up with many clutch hits. stolen bases aren't that big of a deal cause he still manages to get on base and score. also thames never got many opputunity's in the past so he had a lot of pinch hit opportunity's on bad teams so that is why his career ba is down. he is batting over 300. also the rbi's. he has had way fewer ab's then a lot of other hitters so he hasn't had the chance to drive in runs. also he isn't 4th in the lineup where he granderson and polanco hitting ahead of him. he has had 165 ab's compared to ordonez 279, so less chances so far to drive in runs. also he has only played 49 games. also thames has come up with big hits recently. had the 2-run homer last night in the bottom of the ninth and a game tying rbi single in the bottom of the ninth against tampa
