**The MLB Thread**

i said i dont expect him to win 20 or 30 games (some are lol)but at the world championships he made everyone look stupid...what he give up 1 run over the entire thing? lol

last year beckett was hurt, schilling was too infact at one time last year wakefield was about the ace due to health reasons. timlin can close they also still have clement

all your pitchers are injury prone lol. actually last year beckett had his healthiest season. it's naive to think schilling and beckett will be 100% healthy when their recent track records show otherwise, plus those pitchers have reached their peak, there is no upside. now matsuzaka has never thrown a big league pitch. name me 1 good oriental pitcher in the majors

injuy prone but good

chein ming wang

he gave up how many runs in the world championships? yes i know they are all star teams but biggest difference is at this type of thing players cared IF they won and still tried to HIT lol...also how many pitchers on the tigers won a world series?

Kei Igawa (yankees new 5th man) said the baseballs used here are different, a little harder and a little less 'sticky', I wonder if thats has anything to do with why Japanese pitchers are mostly sub par in MLB.

that and the skill level of the players are better here, better training, more resources

go giants, cant wait for the new season to start. barry will break the all time hr record, zito will get 20 wins, and the giants will win the world series in barry's last year!
how can any true baseball fan want bonds to break the record? its obvious he uses roids, its not fair to the guys who do it the legit way

there is more upside to the tigers rotation then the red sox. bonderman and verlander are only 24, zumya 22, robertson, ledezma, rodney, maroth are all under 30. detroit's big 4 pitchers have all pitched world series games while only 2 of boston's rotation pitched in a world series

didn't read the thread but watch out for the tigers
interesting. check the date on that post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i wouldnt give em to much praise, they are playing the royals for gods sakes.
you wouldn't eh?

i was saying watch out for the tigers before the season started. they have a nice offense, that's deep from top to bottom. craig monroe had 20 home runs and 89 rbi's and is 8th in the lineup. the pitching staff isn't that bad either. if bonderman can pitch like he did in the first half of last season, he is a potential 20 game winner, and kenny rogers is a solid veteran pitcher, along with nate robertson and mike maroth, the tigers have potential at starting pitching.

right again. pitching staff reached their potential and the lineup was solid top to bottom

don't bother posting when you know nothing. jeremy bonderman is only 23 and still developing. i have been saying the tigers were a team to watch well before the season started. chris shelton is only 25 and started breaking into the league last year and has potential, although he is not gonna keep on this homerun pace. the tigers will come back down to earth in terms of home runs. they are built for commerica park. curtis granderson can be a solid leadoff hitter, along with polanco at the top. then pudge, ordonez, young, shelton, monroe etc. the tigers will win about 85 games this year
little off on the win amount, but hey everybody thought i was crazy for going out on a limb
