I dont understand why when Pedro pitches these ghey Mets cant hit for him....the past 6 games, in which Martinez started, the Mets have been pathetic at the plate!!

Wow, the Tigers avoid a 4 game sweep and a 5 game losing streak with a 2 run rally in the bottom of the 9th. For a minute there I thought they were swept. Yankees are really playing some good baseball right now. I feel sorry for who they play next.

Milledge is going to be great....I dont think the Mets should trade him.

I actually saw him in his first game (Tuesday). Everytime he went to bat we gave him a standing ovation. He's truly a 5 tool player.

I have to agree with that for the most part. I'm also a Yankee hater. But the Mets have done pretty much the same thing. Not knocking them but its not much different. Beltran, Delgado, Pedro, Cliff Floyd, Tom Glavine. Thats a pretty impressive bunch as far as stats and past years performances are concerned. Not exactly what I would call home grown through the minor league system talent.

In short, the whole league is coming to that. Very few teams build a team nucleus through their farm system anymore. The last one to do that I would have to say is the Braves and even they are using more and more free agents.

The biggest differences between the Yankees and the rest of the major leagues is that the Yankees pay more for BIGGER names. You also see that they haven't won a world series in a while in spite of that. And of course the MAIN difference is that the Yankees owner is hated by EVERYONE in baseball other than Yankee fans.

whatever happened to the tino martinez, paul o'neal, scott brosious, bernie williams, el duke, david cone, joe girardi etc? those aren't superstars, but that is who won titles for new york. now they got arod, sheffield, giambi, johnson, mussina, all these aging veterans who were big stars. why do they have to get the best player at every position? what happened to building a team? the yankees used to remind me of the pistons. no true superstar but a lot of stars who could all step up at one point or another.
