**The MLB Thread**

Phat why do you talk about Verlander faultering? I mean the kid is having a fantastic season. I mean by no ways am I fan of Detriot even though I like them better than the cocky *** white sox fans, but hey, he is having a hell of a season. Kudos to him. Will he last? Who really knows. I think this year he will be mid to high 3 in era with a good win to loss ratio. So that is what counts and maybe he will not do so good like your sir John Garland, but maybe he is the next big thing. I mean you cant say hey he hasnt pitched that many innings. I mean he hasnt played that much, so duh! From what I can see, he has good control and keeps the ball low and has some good stuff. Never know. To me seems like your trying to will him to ****. Which I would be trying to will more into your own pitching as it overall dont look that great. I think with the way Chicago Sox are pitching right now they dont stand a chance, period. I mean Detriot has what all 5 pitchers with mid 3 era's with actually a new comer in miner in the mid 2's? Then when Maroth comes back they have another starter who was having an impressive year. There pitching has just really came together and with the healthy Ordonez, Gullien and newcomers in Shelton and Granderson with experience of Pudge, they will be hard to beat and as much as I hate other teams in the same division as Cleveland, I am actually happy for the Tigers and there fans as they have waited a hella long time to have a good season. Still not a fan, but I respect there play. It will be very hard for the white sox to repeat this year.

Yeah it kinda is. However I would never route for chicago unless it was the cubs. I really feel bad for cubs fans.

the only time i really got into another team besides detroit was 2003. the league championship series in both leagues were great. i was routing for the cubs and red sox but they both lost. i was also routing for cleveland in 97. one of the best world series i have watched.

Yes that was a hell of a world series, good memory.

Let's get one thing straight. Stop using the word faulter. I never said that. I said he wouldn't have as good of a second half. If you call a 4.?? ERA faultering then I'd like for you to trade all your 4.?? pitchers to the White Sox.

You said 4 plus and statistically anything over 4 is just considered an ok pitcher, nothing to write home about however it has changed over the years. But with that being said, if he was to stay in mid 3's, that is a hell of a season. I still believe you just want him to do bad. I mean he is a lot to due with there success so far this year. So far the statistics prove him to be there best starter and was penciled in as a number 5 guy in the rotation. So I say he is having a hell off a year. That goes really for there whole pitching staff, but he impresses me the most.

No, you are wrong. It's just statistically proven that rookie pitchers usually get into trouble when they pitch more innings than they are accustomed to pitching. It has nothing to do with there ability but more to do with there arm getting tired/fatigued. That causes you to hang breaking balls and leave fastballs up in the zone.

Yeah we will see. I mean the kid is 11-4 and has a 2.84 era. Maybe he will be in the high 2's come the end of the year, never know. Also I dont think this kid is your ordinary rookie. Hasnt pitched like a rookie all year. He pitches like a guy in his prime. So on that note maybe he will just have a hell of year. Next year, who knows. A lot of pitchers are up and down in the next year, but that is next year. This year him and the rest of the staff are tearing it up. Will it last? Maybe, maybe not. We will see at the end of the season.
